Topic:
Is it good or bad to be competitive? Lessons for leaders, managers and everyone else

演講者:
澳洲昆士蘭大學(UQ)經濟學院院長 Professor Daniel Zizzo

Abstract:
Investment decisions and technological innovations, financial market booms and crashes, taking risks and taking insurance, working in teams and working notwithstanding the team: these are some of the implications of human nature’s tendency to be competitive and take others into account in making decisions. This lecture will present a behavioural economics framework to understand competitive preferences, will show economic evidence to support their relevance in a range of settings, and will argue that it can be bad, good or both. It is up to leaders and managers to ride the tiger, and behavioural economics can provide insights on how to do so.
