◆Speaker Introduction◆
Professor Ryoji Noyori of Nagoya University is a world-renowned chemist recognized for his pioneering work in asymmetric catalysis. In 2001, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with William S. Knowles and K. Barry Sharpless, for groundbreaking contributions to asymmetric hydrogenation reactions, which revolutionized the synthesis of chiral molecules and transformed pharmaceutical chemistry. Beyond his Nobel-winning research,
Professor Noyori has been a strong advocate of green chemistry, promoting efficient and sustainable synthetic methods. His leadership roles include serving as President of RIKEN and Vice President of the Japan Academy, inspiring scientists worldwide.
