題 目:Identifying and estimating the antagonism with the marginal sufficient component cause model
摘要Abstract:
Sufficient component cause (SCC) model was used to explain the mechanism of variables which are the candidate risk factors of outcome. SCC focuses on the causes of the outcome and usually applied in teaching aspect in epidemiology and causal inference. Counterfactual outcome is the method focuses on the outcome more than the causes. The researchers Lin et al. proposed the marginal sufficient component cause model (mSCC), which combined the SCC and counterfactual outcome. With mSCC model, the two variable interactive mechanisms, synergism and agonism can be identified and estimated when adding the appropriate surrogate variable. When the risk factors may have preventive effect (monotonic assumption of variable), there may exist antagonistic mechanism together with the other two mechanisms. In this talk, I will present the previous SCC studies. Then I will show how to identify and estimate the synergism, agonism, and antagonism with the mSCC model. This method was implement on the cancer data to investigate the interaction of two viruses on liver.
